The Frog Chorus - 2

This appears to be a Coqui frog. Named for the sound it makes - Ko-KEE.
It's no larger than a quarter in diameter, and each frog sings at about 100 decibels, the loudness of a chainsaw or rock concert. The males guard the eggs, as in this photo.

I found this Coqui in a potted orchid near the front door. We really don't want them too close to the house. It's an invasive species from Puerto Rico. We have hundreds of them in our area and they sing from 5PM to 3AM. The living room is open air, and it can be difficult to hold a conversation in the evenings.

Preferring not to go insane, we accept them as music - The Frog Chorus.
